Former AEW world champion Samoa Joe recently shared a personal pick for TNA wrestling Mount Rashmore. Joe has appointed four individuals whom he considers to represent the pinnacle of the company’s history.
Joe’s list includes fellow legends AJ Style and Kurt Angle, who, along with two names worthy of special recognition, are Abyss and Jeff Jarrett. “AJ, Kurt, I think I put Abyss there,” Joe said before adding Jeff Jarrett: “…eff [sic]I mean, he started the whole deal…”
He specifically elaborated on why Abyss made his list, highlighting his often overlooked contributions and physical sacrifices. “Many people don’t realize that physical punishment and pain and pain and effort are put into many matches and that they will make them come true,” Joe explained. “I think he’s one of those underrated people in TNA lore. He’s really, really, really.”
Regarding TNA founder Jeff Jarrett, Joe highlighted his fundamental role. “…He started the whole contract, rolled it all over and it was a huge and essential part for a long time,” Joe said. “So, I mean, those are the people I’m there.” His choice fuses the universally acclaimed star, especially the contributions of Abyss and Jarrett, Joe feels integral to the TNA legacy.
