“The Right Call” – Scott Damore confirms the unsatisfactory WrestleMania main event

John Cena won his 17th WWE World Championship at WrestleMania, but some felt overwhelmed by his victory over Cody Rhodes. After weeks of intense promotion between the two, Cena won in a relatively standard match.

Many feel that the match is inadequate as the main event for WrestleMania and as a starting point for John’s 17th reign. However, on the Ariel Helwani show, Scott Damore argued that it makes a lot of sense to not be dissatisfied with the man who vowed to ruin his wrestling.

“I want that WrestleMania main event to be five stars, and I want you to be satisfied. This was an ending that purposefully satisfies you. It’s the right call from time to time.”

D’Amore’s comments reflect the arguments many have made in the match, whether WWE chose to offer matches that fans knew weren’t satisfied. Some believe this makes sense for Cena’s character, while others argue that every wrestler should aim to have a great match for their fans, even if the character hates the audience.

On Raw, Cena was attacked by Randy Orton and mocked a title match between two legendary rivals. It has not yet been seen as to what matches fans will get from the pair. They will test whether WWE is intentionally playing a bad match or whether WrestleMania was a one-off mistake.
