WWE Producer Plays a Creative Role in AAA

WWE made a major headline by officially acquiring Mexico’s Lucha Libre Promotion AAA over WrestleMania 41 weekend. In fact, the top WWE producers also seem to be involved in the creative direction AAA moves forward.

According to a report from Lucha Libre Online, Jeremy Borash will be involved in the creative aspects of AAA on behalf of WWE. Borash is currently the senior director of content and development and WWE LFG’s senior director, Borash is the show’s executive producer.

The news follows WWE’s recent announcement about the first official crossover event between the two brands: NXT X AAA: Worlds Collide, held at the KIA Forum in Los Angeles on June 7th. The special show features both WWE and AAA stars, marking the beginning of a new era of collaboration.

In a press release, WWE revealed that the deal was signed in collaboration with Mexico-based sports and entertainment company Fillip. If everything goes as planned, the acquisition is expected to be finalized by the third quarter of 2025, depending on standard closure requirements.

The move is part of WWE’s larger plan to increase its global presence by partnering with local wrestling promotions. Not only are you buying AAA, you don’t just own more content, you don’t mix styles or attract fans from both sides. With Jeremy Borash’s creative involvement, it shows that WWE is serious about supporting AAA’s growth and treats it as an important part of the expanding wrestling family.
