Rex Luger didn’t understand how “instrumental” this AEW personality was for his career

Lex Luger from “Total Package” is now inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and is now a WWE Hall of Fame. In a recent episode of “Lex Expressed,” Luger praised his first WCW run voice for making him the star of today.

“I don’t think Jim Ross realized how instrumentals were at the time in the early parts of my career,” Ruger explained. “He’s one of the best, if not the best, ever, and can set your background and background for your movement… he’s an incredible talent for what he’s done… he was a huge factor in putting so many of us on the map.”

Luger did not have JR in his first WCW match call, but his WrestleMania debut match at WrestleMania IX was Jim Ross’ WWF debut, leading to the long career of the broadcaster who was eventually inducted into the WWE Hall Hall of Fame in 2007.

Luger was enthusiastically grateful that JR was one of the wrestlers he was able to take over throughout his WWE Hall of Fame career. JR is still airing occasionally and offers color commentary for special matches selected in AEW. Until the recent health horror, JR was AEW’s weekly voice before he was eventually pulled back in his favour of Tony Ciaborne, Excalibur and Taz.
