In the days following WWE WrestleMania 41, it was revealed that fans were not satisfied with Dwayne “Rock” Johnson being away from the show. After being involved in John Cena’s heel turn in March, many WWE viewers were hoping that Rock would take part in Cena’s title match against Cody Rhodes, but it was Travis Scott who helped Cena win.
Appearing on the “Pat McCuffy Show” this week, Rock revealed that it was his decision not to join WrestleMania and that he believes it will cover up Cena and Rhodes. It may seem like the company has moved from the “last boss” aspect of the storyline, but the wrestlers and actors are planning to get it back at some point in the future.
“it’s not [about the] Johnson said. “Now, not that. But by the way, we go back to that. …I can’t tell you who’s saying it from the texts I’ve got, and from the people I’ve got, who’s saying it. The person I especially love is my man. I call him the company Superman. He’s like, “Listen, my soul is for sale at time.” And I said, “I love it. Let’s do it.'”
It is not clear which wrestler Johnson is referring to in his “Superman” comment. In the past, former WWE champion Drew McIntyre shared kind words about the Rock and teased possible alliances between the two, but it has not yet come to fruition.
According to Johnson, he didn’t know in advance that Scott would be taking part in Sunday’s main event. When the rapper appeared, Johnson knew people would expect Rock to appear soon, but his original intention was to ensure that the audience would continue to focus on the struggle between Cena and Rhodes.
