WWE
Not all plans go smoothly in WWE. This is because matches will be changed or canceled entirely due to unexpected circumstances or due to management’s choice.
Recently, there have been several cases where matches that seemed to happen have been cancelled and we were unable to see them in the end.
Below are five recently planned but cancelled WWE matches:
5. Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens
One of the most well-known news stories from the past few weeks, especially this past weekend, was the plan for a Randy Orton vs Kevin Owens match at WrestleMania 41.
A few weeks before WrestleMania, Kevin Owens was informed that he needed to undergo neck surgery. That means his wrestling future was in the air and he had to cancel his match with Orton.
Instead, Orton held an “Open Challenge” at WrestleMania. WrestleMania was answered by TNA World Champion Joe Hendry and reportedly Orton himself was handpicked for other options, including Jeff Hardy.
There was something positive coming out in the sense that it was a big moment for Hendry, but the surprise was a fun moment for fans, but it’s embarrassing that Owens missed out on another milestone in his career, the big marquee match.
