Dwayne “Rock” Johnson I have been involved in WWE for the past year, rather than the past decade. This must have been great news for fans, right? Big Hollywood stars like Rock take time from schedules for wrestling fans rarely happen. But the problem with Locke’s latest return is that he’s not there when he should be. Take care, Brahma Bull is involved in two WrestleMania main event storylines in succession. However, he was absent in the WrestleMania 41 main event between Cody Rhodes and John Cena. Dwayne Johnson is the time to decide whether he really wants to be part of WWE.
After returning to Japan in 2024, Locke began to rebuttal with Cody Rhodes.
Locke originally wanted to work on the rule of Rome.
- Locke challenged Rome’s reign for the indisputable WWE Championship at WrestleMania 40.
- The original plan was for Rhodes to face Roman rule, but was overturned by a rock behind the scenes.
- WWE pivoted, and the reign of Cody Rhodes v. Roman took place at WrestleMania.
On January 1, 2024, in the Raw version, The Rock came out and teased a match against Roman Reigns. It didn’t make any sense as this was the Cody Rhodes storyline. Cody then won the Royal Rumble and fans thought he was going to finally finish his story. However, later shenangans occurred, and the rule of Lock vs. Rome was promoted for WrestleMania. Despite Triple H not believing it, the backlash didn’t ask for this, and the backlash forced the WWE to pivot, and Rhodes defeated the indisputable WWE Championship rule at WrestleMania 40.
In the life after WrestleMania, Rhodes and Locke have segments in the ring, the latter of which “your story with the ruler of Rome is over, and you did it. But our story is just beginning.” The rock disappeared and returned later that year with the Bad Blood Premium Live event, literally did nothing. However, in the post-show press conference abolition room 2025, he said the “little subtleties” he did were part of the long game he and WWE were playing. But what did that lead to?
Rock’s John Cena flips heels against Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes was his first choice for locking heel turn.
- Rock wanted Cody Rhodes to sell his soul and become a champion.
- Both Cody Rhodes and Triple H opposed this pitch.
- John Cena turned his heels in the elimination chamber at the final moments.
Rock has returned again with Raw’s Netflix debut, but it appears he’s forgotten that he’s the ultimate boss. He and Rhodes suddenly got into good conditions, but a few weeks later, on Smackdown, Lock suddenly asked Rhodes for his “soul.”
This was a plan for Locke changing the heels of Rhodes. The American nightmare reportedly rejected this pitch, and as a last minute measure, WWE made John Cena turn instead. Dave Meltzer tweeted.
After his smackdown returned in February, Locke must be noted that his storyline with Rhodes “doesn’t have to culminate in the match.” So why did he talk about his championship belt last year in the raw segment? And then he says that he doesn’t need the title, but doesn’t need Cody’s soul. What did that mean?
All of these issues are lack of explanation, and the main reason for this is that the rocks are not really there. He appeared after Wrestlemania 40, took a few months off, returned to bad blood, disappeared until January, and appeared on Smackdown a few weeks later, then in the elimination chamber. During the show, John Cena matched herself with the rock, why? He just wanted to ruin wrestling. Because that’s the only explanation he gave to his fans. Considering that the rocks have not appeared since then, he had no intention of actually doing so, so what was he doing in the elimination chamber?
He didn’t want the spotlight, so the rock missed WrestleMania 41
Rock was recently a guest on Pat McAfee’s show
- After John Cena’s heel turned, the rocks didn’t want to appear.
- He said he would book John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes differently.
- Locke also said they could revisit Cody Rhodes’ angles in the future.
The rocks did not appear at WrestleMania. Instead, Travis Scott interfered in the Rhodes match. Rock tells the story, but someone else always finishes them on his behalf.
On the recent Pat McAfee Show, Rock explained that the reason he disappeared after the elimination room was because he wanted Cena and Rhodes to shine the spotlight. He did the job and left the rest to these two to handle. He said:
So the entire Rock and Rhodes storyline they were working on was for everything. Rock didn’t even want to be part of WrestleMania finish, and despite his deep involvement in the storylines of John Cena and Cody Rhodes, I thought Travis Scott’s intervention in the match would be better than he showed up. He claimed that he was only in the removal room to help sell more tickets, as Ali Emmanuel asked him. However, he created an angle he knew he didn’t want to continue as some kind of litmus test on Rhodes’ heels (I don’t even know why they would consider turning the heels of the biggest faces like this).
Rock didn’t explain why he wanted Cody’s soul or why John Cena became the heel for him. He sat at WrestleMania, watched the show at home and showed up to tell his side of the story as fans began to criticise his return. This has no meaning. Rock’s description of McAfee’s show was superficial. Because if he doesn’t want to play a match with Rhodes, he hasn’t yet answered why he was rebutting Rhodes. Perhaps Iwa will need to take a moment to really think about whether he wants to be part of WWE anymore.
