Heartbreaking news has emerged from the world of wrestling. Former ROH and MLW star Julius Smokes revealed that his wife, Mia Joybell, had passed away unexpectedly.
In a statement posted online, Smokes shared that Mia passed away on April 20, 2025 at a nursing home in Bainbridge. Now, after her sudden death, he and his family are seeking help from the wrestling community.
“On April 20, 2025, my beloved wife, Mia Joy Bell, unexpectedly passed away at Bainbridge Nursing Home.” Smoke wrote. “Our family is completely devastated by a sudden loss. At this point, I am reaching out to my family, friends and the sports entertainment/pro wrestling community to give her a proper funeral. Any amount is a blessing and I am extremely grateful. Thank you so much!!!!!”
The GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support funeral costs, and support has already started to be poured in from wrestlers, fans, and those who have crossed the paths in smoke throughout his career.
Known for his energy and charisma in the era of Ring of Honor and Major League Wrestling, Julius Smoke faces one of the toughest moments of his life outside the ring.
