How WWE can ultimately carry out this generation’s feud?

7 Min Read

As a career rival WWEit’s appropriate that John Cena and Randy Orton get off again before the former hangs their boots at the end of the year. Orton is expected to be the first challenger for Cena’s WWE title. This is a great first defence for the 17-time world champion.

As far as these two greats refute, their rivalry has never actually managed to reach the highs that both can do in the main event. They worked against them with the old WWE system, so it would be interesting to see how Triple H can conclude the generational feud in a satisfying way.

John Cena and Randy Orton’s generation rivalry

The highly decorated star intertwines the WWE carrier

  • John Cena and Randy Orton first rebutted in 2007.
  • The two will compete in the World Championships for the next decade, with their final match being played in 2017.
  • WWE has the opportunity to close the rivalry in the best possible way as Orton is trying to catch Cena’s record.

Randy Orton and John Cena first began rebuttal in WWE almost 20 years ago. The latter had to help Edge dodge the involved Dastardly Rko team to dodge the D-Generation X. Since then, the two stars have stockpiled world championships to make both the most decorated performers in wrestling history.

In the pursuit of many world titles, the two were directly opposed to each other. Senna and Orton each year had the championship impact until 2014, when full-time careers for both men slowed down. When the two finally faced each other in the match, John Cena defeated his rival in an episode of SmackDown in 2017, 10 years after they first began their feud.

Due to the longevity of rivalry, “Vipers” are one of China’s most important enemies and are clearly worthy of respect in their final run in WWE. As Orton chases the record for 17-time world champions, it makes their upcoming title match even more exciting when fans seriously cheer for “Apex Predator” against his rival for the first time.

John Cena is now a heel character

For the first time, Randy Orton becomes a babyface

John Cena Elimination Royal Rumble 2025 Joe Camparéal

  • John Cena is on the heel for the first time with Randy Orton in a long-term feud.
  • The switched dynamic opens up new opportunities for rivalries to exceed previous expectations.
  • Orton is the perfect first challenger to help Cena establish herself as the heel WWE Champion.

Fans may have been reluctant to watch another match between John Cena and Randy Orton during the former retirement tour. Despite the frequency with which they are located opposite each other, Cena and Orton were unable to make their rivalry look like the best in the company, because of how fierce WWE creatives as performers were during peak times.

But the inconceivable John Cena Heal Turn has shed a new light on his rivalry, especially considering how popular he is on the WWE fanbase as a veteran figure. Given the wealth of experience together in the ring, Randy is the perfect first opponent for Cena to face. Especially because Orton isn’t too late to his 17th World Championship record.

I hope their matches are better than their previous outings, but crowd support is different from what you’ve experienced before. John Cena needs something to be sure to defend his first world title as a heel, and combining him with “Vipper” is probably enough to get it.

Triple H books feud better

John Cena and Randy Orton’s rivalry can finally be great

Triple H WrestleMania 38 Imagination

  • Triple H has a proven track record of getting the Main Event Program correctly during his tenure as a creative head.
  • The whole history of John Cena and Randy Orton came together to come at WWE’s worst creative time.
  • Orton has improved as a character and inside the ring since Triple H took over.

Given how badly the main event of WrestleMania 41 has been received by fans, it’s hard to trust Triple H right now. But for the most part, the “game” is excellent at promoting some of the best main event programs in wrestling, and could turn John Cena’s final world championship reign.

The weak history of Cena and Randy Orton would usually not bring much encouragement to fans, but their records have a big warning. Both men’s peaks came during WWE’s worst creative period. Looking at their careers favorably, Cena and Orton were able to still be massive stars despite the company’s overall mal lazy. This means that you can thrive in a better system.

Physically, neither man is the same performer as 10 years ago, but both are given a new lease of life under a Triple H reservation. It means that anything on John Cena’s heel is possible, but Randy Orton has been constantly impressed everywhere he has been given since controlling the stable WWE of his evolution.

They may have WrestleMania 41 main event style stinkers in the backlash, but fans must be optimistic about the feud, at least for now. If John Cena’s first World Championship defense is just as bad, WWE may have a big problem with its hands.
