Dominique Mysterio is proud of himself.

The young wrestling veteran wrestled in one of the biggest matches of his career at WrestleMania 41. Although it wasn’t Dom’s first appearance on the show, it was the first time he had tried out a singles title at an event.

The Judgment Day star acknowledged the importance of this in an interview with CBS Sports over the weekend. He called the opportunity “super-verification” after working hard on his character and his work in the ring since his 2020 WWE debut.

“It’s been very verified. That’s the fact that my first maniac is competing for a singles title. It’s also my first maniac without my dead dad anywhere around me. It’s definitely an accomplishment for me.”

Dominique Mysterio won the Intercontinental Championship at the PPV. He seemed truly surprised by the positive reception of the fans, and the overjoyed Mysterio gave the extended celebration after the match.

Many wrestling veterans, including Triple H and John Cena, have since given prison Dom his flowers, and have been discussing his amazing transformation since his first appearance on the WWE horizon.

Even Rey Mysterio, a 28-year-old father who suffered from the betrayal of the storyline at the hands of Dirty Dom, was unable to hide his true feelings about his son’s success. You can see what WWE Hall of Famer had to say about the progression of Dom here.
