John Moxley’s Next AEW World Title Challenger Set Beach Break

John Moxley defends the AEW World Championship against Samoa Joe on May 14th with “Aew Dynamite: Beach Break.”

Joe suffocated Moxley as OPPS won the World Trio Championship from Death Rider during last week’s “AEW Dynamite”, and the next night’s “AEW Collision” looted the place, demanding Moxley a one-on-one rematch with Joe.

The match became official after Death Rider and OPPS were hit at the start of the show during this week’s “Dynamite.” Joe had Moxley again in the Kokina clutch, but Swerve Strickland and Kenny Omega joined in just to carry out the interference with the younger Bucks and Okada Kazuchika, urging OPPS to be expelled from ringside.

Joe then snatches the microphone and declares he wants to face Moxley, and declares that he will regain his World Championship (watching Strickland at the same time) before he takes his vacation. This is the first time Joe and Moxley are working together in WWE, and Joe defeated Dean Ambrose in the November 2017 episode of “WWE Raw.” It was also Joe’s first attempt since losing Strickland in Dynasty last year, and he is a defense of the sixth title of Moxley’s title.
