AEW Dynamite Results (4/23/2025): Live Match Updates and Highlights

The show will be held with Tony Ciaborne standing in the ring. He then introduces Master P, who moves towards the ring. Master P makes his “Hmm!” bit and he introduces the new AEW World Trios Champions The Opps. OPPS (Samoa Joe, Hook, Powerhouse Hobbs) moves towards the ring as Master P does his bit. Samoa and Master P answered some calls and answers with the crowd, and Joe says they were there to celebrate. Joe thanks Master P for everything he does for the city of New Orleans, and they plug in his charity for student-athletes.

Before Joe can officially begin his celebration, Death Rider music is played and Marina Shafir walks through the crowd. They use Shafir as a distraction to flock to the Ring’s OPP, and Moxley suffocates Joe against the ropes. Moxley then meets Master P, but before he can do anything, Joe locks into the Coquina clutch from behind. Master P can take some cheap shots in the intestines. Afterwards, John Moxley falls asleep and he tells the event.

The Young Bucks and Okada Kazucha bash Joe with a chair to rescue Moxley and save him. As Moxley steps in, Marina Shafir returns to the ring and welcomes Moxley to prevent him from talking to the young Bucks. Swerve Strickland’s music hits and he moves towards the ring to escape the Bucks. Kenny Omega’s music is a hit and he goes on stage. The young Bucks and Death Rider bail out of the ringside area and head back through the crowd. The OPP is left tall with omega and swivels. Joe then gets on the microphone and deals with John Moxley. Joey says he has him if he wants him and he will suffocate him and get his AEW World Championship back.

After that, we head backwards. There, Renee Puckett interviews patriarchy and new ROH World Television Champion Nick Wayne. Pucket congratulates Nick, but Christian takes the title and credits of Wayne’s winning championship. He asks Wayne if he understands what will happen when he listens to him, and Wayne rebuts that if he stuck to the plan, this would have happened for him. Christian says he loves his family and leaves.

Ricochet then heads into the ring for the first match of the night, followed by Mark Briscoe.

Single Match: Mark Brisco vs. Ricochet

The match begins with Briscoe hitting a series of punches at Ricochet. Brisco then sends Ricochet to the floor with a front kick and follows it through the ropes and with a scissor kick. They then fought on the floor and the apron, and Ricochet hit Brisco’s pump kick. Ricochet then untie the crowd and gives Briscoe the chance to hit a Dropkick. Both men then return to the ring, and Ricochet is able to pull the referee in front of him as an attack on Briscoe. Ricochet then takes some cheap shots and throws Brisco on the floor.

Brisco then counters the top rope jump attack with a Manhattan drop. Brisco then follows it with a flying forearm and a running lariat. He then goes to the fisherman buster and covers for the nearby fall. Ricochet then begins a comeback, but is quickly interrupted by a suppression. Briscoe then searches for the frog boy, but Ricochet avoids it. He then hits Springboard 450 for the nearby fall. The Ricochette then returns to the top rope. Ricochet then suspends and Brisco meets him at the horn for a fight. Both men then hit the ropes and Briscoe turns Ricochet over with a big lariat. He tries to hit Jay Driller, but Ricochet avoids it. He then tries to roll up Briscoe using the rope, but Briscoe turns around and wins with stacked pins.

Singles match winner Mark Briscoe!

After the match, Ricochette removes frustration with Briscoe in a chair. He then grabs the golden scissors, which pulls out Kevin Knight and makes a save. Ricochet then takes a shot on the night, but he hits a Ricochet in the duck and face. After that, Knight gets scissors and Ricochet runs away. The Rock and Roll Express will then appear in the crowd.

Stokeley Hathaway then heads to Rampway to introduce you to the FTR. Afterwards, when the FTR leaves, they all go to the ring together and join Tony Ciaborne in the ring. Hathaway says “Hangman” Adam Page commits arson, Ricochet uses scissors to hurt people, and everything Jon Moxley is doing is a crime. Hathaway says he has a Cash Wheeler stop from AEW from his permanent record. Wheeler says that what happened with Daniel Garcia last week was not easy for him and Dax Harwood. Wheeler says Garcia is the person who made his own decision and said 2.0 wanted to fight FTR. Wheeler says 2.0 wasn’t ready to fight, and Harwood and himself dealt with it by aewing before him, but that doesn’t happen anymore.

Harwood then screams out Rock and Roll Express and invites him into the ring. Harwood then asks what he thinks Rock and Roll Express is one of the best tag teams of all time and what their biggest match is, sharing that his favorite Rock and Roll Express is a match against the Midnight Express. Harwood then says that Midnight Express is a better tag team than Rock and Roll Express and will tease her age. Ricky Morton then cuts off Harwood and says he and Robert Gibson are not underestimated, but the FTR attacks Rock and Roll Express and hits the assisted pile driver with Morton. The Paragon (Aew TNT champions Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, Roderick Strong) proceeds towards the ring with the help of Rock N’Roll Express.

The young Bucks then head to the ring for the next game of the night, followed by “speed ball” Mike Bailey and Kevin Knight.

Tag Team Match: “Jet” Kevin Knight and “Speedball” Mike Bailey vs. Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson and Nicholas Jackson)

The match comes with Knight and Bailey early advantage, sending the Bucks to the floor and slamming double-team splashes onto the floor. The Bucks then quickly turn things around. They cut out the ring and started a double team of Mike Bailey. Bailey then counters the vertical suppression into a rollup with two counts. Nick Jackson then runs to the ring and knocks Kevin Knight out of the apron. Bailey defeats both young Bucks with a series of fast kicks of lightning. Knight then tags Matt Jackson to attack the fuss of the attack. Bailey and Knight are then caught up in a double aurora suppression that cuts off momentum. Matt Jackson then hits a sit-out powerbomb on the night to welcome the nearby fall.

Knight then makes a tag for Bailey. Bailey eats DDT as soon as he enters the ring. Nick Jackson then tag and eats the kick. This sets up a series of kicks, resulting in everyone being placed on the mat. Matt Jackson is then cleared from the ring, with Knight and Bailey hitting Nick Jackson’s backstabber and powerbomb combo. The mat then returns to split the pinfall. While Bailey kept Matt Jackson busy outside, Knight hit Nick with a UFO drop. Matt then fights and pushes Bailey into the knights to disband Autumn. Everyone then returns to the floor, where the Bucks bump into the ending device from the ring barricade to the floor. Bailey then tries to hit both sides with a Moonsaw, but is caught and hits Meltzer’s driver.

Knight then tries to take on both members of the Bucks and is able to hit a double DDT. He then sets up a stepping stone, but Ricochet interferes to make him trip. This leads to a BTE trigger from the Bucks covering the knights for victory.

Tag Team winners, The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson and Nicholas Jackson) match!

After that, we head backwards. There, Renee Puckett interviews AEW women’s world champion, “timeless” Tony Storm. Storm wishes Owen Hart Cup semi-finals good luck before dealing with their appearance on the TCM red carpet. Storm will issue an open challenge that will be answered immediately by Queen Aminata for Saturday’s AEW clash. The storm then departs, and Aminata becomes confused. After that, Puckett tells her that she will do great things.

The Hurt Syndicate (“The All Mighty” Bobby Lashley, “The Standard of Excellence” Shelton Benjamin and MVP) heads towards the ring. The MVP begins by grabbing the microphone and placing Benjamin and Lashley as monsters. Before Lashley gets the microphone and speaks, it is shown that MJF is out of the sports car behind the scenes. MJF then goes to the ring with the microphone. MJF says he knew he had a good time last week and if they wanted to have a great time for the rest of their lives he just needed three thumbs. The MVP then gives him his first thumb, and Benjamin reluctantly gives his thumb.

After that, Benjamin says he didn’t give MJF a thumbs up due to a ton of broad and watches, he did it for the MVP. MJF says we all love MVP and our best friend Bob. Lashley then places her thumb in the middle, and MJF asks immediately. MJF tells Lashley that he brings more to the table and that Bobby brings to the table that he doesn’t. MJF says he knows Aew better than anyone else and cuts corners better than anyone else. After that, MJF says that if he is in the syndicate they will not only run AEW, but also run professional wrestling. MJF says they got off the wrong food and thinks he won’t accept responsibility. MJF says he’ll do something he’s never done before. MJF then struggles, but in the end I’m sorry to Bobby. MJF then offers Lashley the car he drove. Bobby asks for the key and MJF says they’re behind. Lashley then asks to look at the car and they all head backwards. Then surround the MJF corvette. Lashley and Benjamin get in the car and drive with their thumbs down to MJF.

Then head back to where the Hangman Page is being interviewed about Kyle Fletcher. Page says he puts Fletcher in vision on the ground. After that, MJF shows up and says that his haircut will reverse him. Hangman says that MJF hasn’t changed since he was 12 years old. MJF says he will return to world title photos with The Hurt Syndicate and become a two-time champion. Then the Hangman says after MJF beats his ass, he knows he can’t win the match or hang with him at Owen. After that, MJF says they are 1-1 and if they meet again he will send the seabiscuit back to the glue factory. MJF says if Hangman succeeds in Owen’s final, he will do his best to suffocate him. Page says he will give MJF something to suffocate and he leaves.

He then defeats both Alexander and Takeshita and hits a running senton. Ospreay then returns the tag and pops out on the floor into the Don Callis family, but gets stuffed into Alexander and crashes into the floor.

Osprey then fights, frees himself from Alexander and creates a tag for King. Taketa then tagged and Maspree Eye can defeat both heels with a flipping kick. He then tags the king. King attacks a large lariat with Takeshita. King then takes the action outside, where he sandwiches Takeshita and Alexander against the barricade. Then Ospreay tagged him and he hit the double-team move with Takeshita. Alexander then returns to the ring and breaks the pin.

Lance Archer then jumps onto the apron to deflect Brodyking. Ospreay then pops out on the floor Archer. Alexander then defeats Osprey with a Powerbomb, and Takeshita hits a running lariat with the King. Alexander and Takechita then simultaneously slam the king with a fierce elbow, and Alexander covers for the nearby autumn. Alexander follows it with King’s C4 spike for victory.

After the match, the attack continues with the King. Ospreay tries to return to protect him, but is suppressed by Archer’s chokeslam. Kyle Fletcher then heads to the ring and applauds for his teammates. They then wanted to continue their attack on Ospreay, but Hangman Page proceeded towards the ring to break it. Before Hangman joins, Rocky Romero and Trent Beretta jump over him from behind. The number game eventually catches up, and Fletcher defeats Hangman with a brainbuster.

Jamie Hater then heads into the ring for the night’s main event, followed by Chris Stallander.
