One of the finals of the Owen Heart Cup tournament has been set.
TBS champion Mercedes Mohn reached the tournament finals on April 16th in the spring breakthrough episode of Dynamite. She defeated ROH women’s champion Athena in her first semi-finals.
The second semi-final took place during tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite at Lakefront Arena in New Orleans. This match, which was the main event of the show, saw Jamie Hater face Chris Stallander.
Both women did their best to reach the final. At the end of the match, Statlander hit a 450 splash to head towards the pin, but Hayter was kicked out at the final moments.
Jamie then refutes to a dive from Chris and hooks the enemy. Jamie Hater finally delivers Hyterade and pins Statlander for victory. Mercedes Mohn came out to confront her new opponent, and the show aired as the two stared at each other.
Will Osprey has already made it to the men’s final, but Kyle Fletcher and “Hangman” Adam Page will soon be fighting elsewhere.
Both Owen Finals will take place on May 25th in Double or Notepep from Desert Diamond Arina in Glendale, Arizona.
