In his wrestling career dating back to 1990, Chris Jericho has had a memorable feud over the years. For many fans, the 2008 WWE rivalry with Sean Michaels belongs near the top of that list, and Jericho himself agrees. In his recent appearance on the Monopoly event panel, the wrestler explained that he wanted to see the footage reused for today’s audience.

“I think the 2008 feud with Shawn Michaels was one of the biggest feuds in WWE history,” Jericho said. “They should put together a… Netflix documentary about it.

The storyline began shortly after WWE WrestleMania 24. This led Michaels to retire from Rick Flair in an emotionally recharged match. Over the next few days, Jericho untook Michaels for Flair’s retirement, but at first he remains babyface. Jericho eventually turned the heels and in addition to some great matches, the program sparked several memorable moments. This includes Jericho slaps Michaels’s wife and Jericho throws Michaels on the TV screen.

The feud ended with an episode of “WWE Raw” in November 2008, with Jericho winning the final man’s match against Michaels. Shortly afterwards, Jericho continued to lose John Cena’s World Heavyweight Championship in the WWE Survivor Series, and Michaels entered a feud against JBL before facing WrestleMania 25 Undertaker.

Since then, many fans have maintained their preference for the storyline, often being debated in the best feud for both Michaels and Jericho. Former AEW star Malakai Black revealed that Michaels had shown angle footage involving himself, Jericho and his wife students at the WWE Performance Center as an example of powerful storytelling.
