Chelsea Green was ruined from the Women’s US Championship, at least according to Green’s husband Matt Cardona. In the April 25th edition of WWE Smackdown, Green’s 132-day reign was concluded by Zelina Vega, with Vega becoming the second champion.
In X, Cardona claimed that a tragedy similar to the Montreal Nejihob occurred, but he did not know where Smackdown was.
Green has been in the title since the main event on WWE Saturday Night in December 2024, beating the sewing machine in the tournament final. Vega wasn’t part of the tournament and made her victory even more special.
As for Cardona, rumors have been circulating over the years about his potential return to WWE. Green says he’s confident that Matt will be back, but agrees to Cardona’s declaration that “Zack Ryder is dead.” Both the rookie and former female US champions know what it’s like to be released from WWE, proving that fans shouldn’t count Cardona as a superstar again.
