After a few weeks of vignette broadcast, Aleister Black is back WWE. After spending the past few years at AEW, he officially left the company in 2025 after his contract expired. He previously worked at WWE from 2016 to 2021. He was thriving with NXT, but his time on the main roster wanted a lot. However, the new management hopes that his execution on SmackDown will be much better this time around.
Black has returned to WWE with the latest version of SmackDown. He attacked Miz and made his presence known. From a new chapter in WWE, there are four opponents who want to come back and see him feud with him.
Seth Rollins
Current brand: RAW
- Rollins has recently been alongside Paul Heyman and Bron Blakeker.
- He defeated Rome rule and CM Punk at WrestleMania 41.
The first name on this list, the great name with Black Feud, is a wrestler who has won a big victory at the WrestleMania 41. For years, Seth Rollins has touted him as a visionary WWE and revolutionary. Now he’s building something new with Paul Heyman and Bron Breakker in his group. CM Punk and Rome’s rule will undoubtedly be a major target, but it will be interesting to see a feud with other names in WWE as well.
Black fits perfectly into his rivalry with Rollins. He was able to challenge everything Rollins was saying and the moves he made. Their promotional fight will be really exciting. Black shows that he has what he needs to compete with the main event stars. He did so with Cody Rhodes in AEW. Plus, Black and Rollins are excellent in the ring and have played big games against each other in the past.
Penta
Current brand: RAW
- Penta is involved in photography for WWE Intercontinental titles.
- He lost a 4-way match on WrestleMania 41.
Over the past few years, WWE has seen many former AEW stars join the company. In addition to black, penta is one of those names. The two are some of the best ring contestants in the world today. However, fans have seen them compete in the ring in one-on-one action at a time. Now they are both in WWE and they can do great things together.
What WWE has been getting better lately is its focus on non-title midcard rivals. Penta is involved in the title photography for the Intercontinental, but giving him a break from it and taking part in a story with other contestants is not harmful. Plus, it also helps Black get more story and exposure. The black and penta style gives fans something amazing to see. It’s a very difficult match to watch.
Damien Priest
Current Brand: SmackDown
- The priest lost the Battle of Sin City Street to drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 41.
- He has never faced Aleister Black before.
Since joining Smackdown, Damian Priest has been very focused on his feud with Drew McIntyre. However, after he was defeated at WrestleMania 41, it was time for the priest to move on from there. It does not need to be resurrected, and continues to move on like his rival on Judgment Day. He needs to feud with other names and gain more momentum again.
The rivalry between black people and priests is something that fans can really sink their teeth. Not just the ring, but their personas can mesh each other very well. The blacks were able to maintain his occult-like character, but the priest was able to call back to his old “Punishment Martinez” gimmick. The two have never fought in any of the companies before. This is truly amazing.
John Cena
Current Brand: SmackDown
- Cena has recently become a 17-time world champion.
- He faces Randy Orton at Backlash 2025.
For months, John Cena has been calling out fans in the way he treated him. He embraced the persona on his heels. It’s now (intentionally pun) to see WWE put together a match with a star that Cena has never rebutted before. This should not be limited to large stars. So why not put Cena in the Aleister Black program?
Black has challenged many names beyond his career to go to places they have never been before. He is, in a way, the perfect antithesis to what China is and what he represents. Black could call Cena if he really believed the way he acted and what he was saying. It’s really interesting to see the WWE Championship program against John Cena unfold on television to help rebuild his spot as a star in the singles. If WWE wants to make his final run memorable, Black is one of the best choices to attack Cena.
