In 2024, Adam Copeland featured Adam Copeland defending the TNT Championship against Aleister Black in a brutal steel cage match. In fact, Black now claims he lost a pint of blood in the match.
While talking about wrestling on the rap game podcast, Aleister Black spoke about a steel cage match against Adam Copeland last year. He called the match one of AEW’s favorites and said Adam was very kind, easy to work and made the match so much fun.
Black remembered how badly he bleed, and people estimated he lost about a pint and half of blood as he kept pouring for so long. There was a lot, but he thought the blood made the match feel even stronger.
Black said that the cage match should be violent and felt that he had pulled it apart by mixing the slow, intense moments with quick, sharp action to make it truly exciting.
“The cage match was great. It was definitely one of my favorite matches I’ve done at AEW, and Adam just said, he was Adam Cole, he, he, he, he cares about it, and he had such an explosion there. And we were there.
It was like that because it was very long and very bleeding so badly – it was poured out. But it added so much, do you know? Also, because you don’t see me bleeding frequently. ”
Yeah, it was like the cage match had to be violent. I think there’s a level of violence that’s slow, systematic, but sometimes very accurate and quick. ”
Black returned on the April 25 episode of WWE Smackdown, where he destroyed Miz at Black Mass. He’s back in WWE, but always appreciated his time at AEW and that never changes.
