Pat McAfee is set to return to WWE Raw in Kansas City on April 28th to deal with the shocking events of last week’s show. On the April 21st episode, McAfee was choked violently by former world heavyweight champion Gunther.

Gunther began the April 21st Tilade by denouncement of Michael Cole. Michael Cole urged McAfee to protect his broadcast partners. General Ring then attacked McAfee and locked him into the sleeper for nearly a minute. The attack prevented McAfee from continuing to comment on the rest of the show, causing SmackDown’s Joe Tescitore to step behind the desk. McAfee was later evaluated at Las Vegas Hospital.

In response to the attack, WWE Raw general manager Adam Pearce announced that Gunther was fined and suspended indefinitely for his actions against both Cole and McAfee. Pierce confirmed that McAfee will return to Raw on April 28 to deal with the incident and send a message to General Ring.

On his own show, McAfee discussed his upcoming segment:

“I think I’ll have to talk to Gunther tonight. I’m grateful that Adam Pierce has stopped Gunther. I have the opportunity to share my thoughts by showing up on Law. The world of wrestling is crazy.

Fans want to see how McAfee responds to Gunther’s brutal assault and whether this conflict sets the stage for a showdown within the ring when Austria’s suspension is lifted. Pierce won’t compete in the show, but Smackdown GM Nick Aldis has stepped in, but fans can expect Raw’s authority to be enthusiastically interested in what McAfee has to say.
