Brian Danielson revealed the AEW moment that made him want to leave WWE and take part in a promotion owned by Tony Kahn.
The wrestling veteran spoke to talk about sports for a new interview. He was opened about the perceptual war between two American wrestling promotions, claiming that AEW would not approach other companies in a belligerent way.
The former AEW world champion said he doesn’t feel like he’s at war with anyone, but he pointed out how this feeling is not mutual. Brian Danielson explained that WWE always recognizes competition between businesses as a real war, and that AEW is always in defense.
“I don’t know the right strategy, but I like the way Tony Kahn handles things. Wait a second.
Like one, it’s not my personality. Second, it’s not Tony Kahn’s personality. And I think that’s one of the things that drew me towards AEW. ”

Brian Danielson noted that sharing this idea with Tony Kahn was the first thing that attracted him to his promotion. He then revealed to him the moment he finally convinced him that AEW was where it should be.
“We had Brody Lee, who had a wrestler who had passed away. They had this incredible complimentary show, and at that point I was still with WWE.
The former WWE star said that everyone can make mistakes or make bad decisions. But as a company, AEW is trying to do good things without trying to sell itself the same way.
Apart from this, Brian Danielson also spoke about his ring status after retiring from full-time wrestling last year. The 43-year-old found himself in a lot of pain towards the end of his full-time run at AEW. On the topic of retirement, Brian explained that he didn’t want to put the words there, but insisted that he felt very comfortable where he was.
