AEW has built a reputation as being the “best wrestling” that is largely appreciative of the massive massive matches they have made over six years of existence.
Whether it’s a dream match or a rekindling of longtime rivalry, these matches helped the company find its identity.
However, the rapid movement of the business and how the company’s storyline unfolded had to completely scrap or cancel some big matches.
While some of these contests can occur under the line, here are eight big AEW matches that may have been cancelled.
8. MJF vs Jeff Jarrett
To start in 2025, Jeff Jarrett has begun his quest to win Championship Gold in all elite wrestling, especially in AEW world titles.
However, MJF was a major obstacle in this quest, and Friedman placed his own goal of winning the AEW World Championship ahead of Jarrett.
After criticism of the dialogue used in the promotion between the two, this feud was clearly discarded right in front of our eyes.
MJF and Jarrett may have been able to blow away the ongoing issues in one match, but AEW chose to knock things down the roadside without solving them.
