John Moxley vs. Big Regulation Samoa Joe is a World Title Match at Beach Break

Samoa Joe and John Moxley will be locked inside steel cages for the AEW World Championship match at “Beach Break.”

Joe was confirmed as Moxley’s next challenger in “AEW Dynamite” last week after the world champion called him the week before. Joe suffocated Moxley alongside the OPPS, the title of the World Trio held by Death Rider. This week, OPPS issued a statement two weeks later ahead of the “beach break,” defeating the trio of Rhett Titus, Nick Comoroto and Myles Hawkins with a simple squash.

After the match, Moxley and Deathrider ambushed Joe and OPPS, but Joe again locked the Coquina clutch on the entrance ramp. However, he is forced to abandon the hold as he saw the ring brawl Claudio Castagnoli ready to film with Katsuyori Shibata’s head placed on a chair. Joe ran down to run away and grabbed the microphone and slated Moxley to escape and hid behind the Death Rider before declaring he wanted to make the AEW World title match a steel cage match.

Moxley and Joe met for their second singles match on May 14th, with former Dean Ambrose losing to Joe in the 2017 episode of “WWE Raw.” It was Joe’s opportunity to win his second AEW world title, reigning in the world from the end of 2023 to 2024, with Moxley making his sixth title defense in 2024 since Lesdream.
