Why does AEW’s Ricochet call Brian Danielson “idiot”?

After a slow start, Ricochet’s AEW run turned out to be the breath of fresh air that his career needed. The turning point came when Ricochet turned his heels in the AEW Continental Classic after both fans and friends became rival Swave Strickland. And now, Ricochet feels he’s gaining even more rudeness from the man who finished his reign of the AEW World Championships in Strickland last summer.

On Thursday afternoon, Ricochet responded to a tweet about an interview given by Bryan Danielson earlier this week to Daily Star. In the interview above, Danielson said Strickland, Will Osprey, AEW world champions John Moxley and Kenny Omega were mentioned as wrestlers, and later MJF and “Hangman” Adam Page were mentioned as other potential candidates. The fact that Ricochet was left behind from Danielson’s list was not overlooked.

“I knew Brian Danielson was an idiot,” Ricochet tweeted.

Interestingly, this indirect interaction between Ricochet and Danielson is one of the few times the two have crossed passes in any form or form in their careers. Both were prolific indie stars in their careers and worked at WWE simultaneously between 2018 and 2021, it was in the 2021 men’s royal rumble match that Danielson and Ricochet shared the ring. It could similarly remain that case, and following the end of his full-time career last October, when, or one day, Danielson will wrest again.

At least Ricochette can take comfort in his victory over one of the recently listed men. Alongside the Young Bucks and Okada Kazuchika, Ricochet won last night with “Aew Dynamite,” beating Omega and recent Ricochet rivals Mark Brisco, “Speedball” Mike Bailey and Kevin Knight.
