CM Punk’s infamous altercation between CM Punk and Jack Perry ended in 2023. The topic still speaks so much, and Jim Ross revealed that the whole situation felt embarrassing.
While talking into the ropes, Jim Ross spoke about the behind-the-scenes battle between CM Punk and Jack Perry in AEW in 2023. He didn’t care who started it, he felt it wasn’t the right time or place, and both guys should have kept it down later and dealt with it.
Ross said CM Punk is a good friend and a good person, but it was wrong to escalate the situation. Ross thinks Jack Perry probably doesn’t sound macho, so even if he doesn’t admit it, he’s probably really nervous or scared.
Ross added that he missed the actual fight but was told about it during the show. He thought it was a mess and said it was getting too warm behind the scenes. He called the situation “b******” and said it should have never happened.
“Yeah, I came forward. I was going to do one or two of my matches, whatever it was, whatever it was, and whatever it was. It was embarrassing. I don’t give you *** who’s right and who’s wrong. It’s not the place or time to do it.
And Phil Brooks is my great friend. We still communicate semi-regularly. Good man. He kept standing there that day and pressing the button and doing wrong. I have to believe that Jack Perry was scary. Now he won’t say that. He doesn’t admit it. But you know, come on.
Look, I missed it. I was out as they were off. Someone informed me during or during the last match, “Boy, you missed this behind the scenes.” And I think, I didn’t miss anything. That’s embarrassing. are you kidding me Couldn’t wait? It’s very hot and boils the cauldrons of several trains. It’s just terrible. It was b****. ”
If he was in charge, when asked what he had done, Ross said he would have stopped it immediately. He says you can’t bring people to personal issues with television and if someone refuses to follow that rule, they will be fired.
Ross said it’s more important to work as a team than to try to act tough. He liked both Punk and Perry and called Perry a fearless child, but he said the whole battle was just ego and pride getting in the way.
“Yeah. You’re not muddying the water. We’re not doing this. Well, do you have any issues with what I’m saying? We’re not doing this. And if you insist on doing this, we’re going to end your agreement. You’re more important to you now. He’s playing your game and not doing this anymore.
AEW ultimately releases footage of the commercial Punk and Jack Perry brawl, but ultimately backfired the company. Anyway, everyone eventually moved out of the situation, but many fans simply felt that it might be avoided.
