WWE
The WWE stars responded to a “silly” change in the main roster WWE name following their call, following the rebound of fans.
When War Machine signed with WWE in 2018, the pair made their debut on NXT TV as Hanson and the Low of the War Raiders, winning the NXT Tag Team Championship before calling.
However, at their appeal, the pair received a name change, now known as Eric and Iber, and the team name was changed to “Viking Experience.”
The change was filled with a lot of backlash from fans, and continued less than a week before the name was changed to the Viking Raiders again.
Speaking about his insights with Chris Van Vriette, Eric revealed the name change and the fans’ reaction to it.
He said:
“It took less than a week, it was like six days, and we were the Viking Raiders. But the only thing that changed was our names. We were still the same people.
“We still made the same moves. We still made the same entrance. We were still wearing the same clothes, the same horns and armor, everything. I think we still had the same music. They changed the name of Tron.
“Every time we appear on TV, you get tweets of at least 12 Viking experiences, which is funny, but yeah, you can go down that rabbit hole if you want. It was a stupid, stupid, stupid moment.
“That was our debut from NXT and we had already changed our name once, so we were an indie and war machine, so we came to WWE.
Erik and Ivar returned to WWE TV late last year and appeared again under the name War Raiders.
They lost their title on the night of WrestleMania 41 on the new day.
