Matt Cardona hasn’t been suppressed when it comes to dealing with WWE’s latest talent cuts. The former WWE superstar, once known as Zack Ryder, recently fired a message on Twitter, aiming to get rid of the company directly. It’s pure Cardona energy.
“There are three options for the most recent releases: 1) It’s ambiguous. He wrote.
Cardona knows exactly what it’s like to be able to show the door. After spending more than a decade in WWE, he was released in 2020 in the first wave of pandemic cuts. Instead of disappearing, he rebranded himself as a top draw in an independent scene, collecting titles, carving out a new identity far from the “Woo Woo” persona. From the GCW and the NWA, he made it clear that he wasn’t just surviving to make an impact and appear. He is thriving.
His tweet follows WWE’s extensive release list this week. This includes main roster Shayna Baszler, Braun Strowman, Dakota Kai, Katana Chance and Kayden Carter. NXT also lost several top names like Gigi Dolin, Cora Jade, Gallus and Javier Bernal. While most of the main roster stars are locked into a 90-day non-competitive clause, NXT’s talent is expected to become a free agent within 30 days.
We don’t know yet whether WWE regrets any of these cuts, but is there any dull advice from Cardona? Don’t wait.
