Both Sting and Bryan Danielson hanged their boots at AEW over the past year, and “The Icon” officially retired with AEW Revolution 2024 and “The American Dragon”, quietly leaving later that year after AEW Less Dram. When he appeared in “Way of the Blade,” President Aew Tony Khan remembered how difficult it is to persuade both men to catch them in the final run.

Tony Kahn also claimed that Brian Danielson tried to talk to him as he was running at the AEW World Championships.
Tony Kahn also admitted that, despite the veteran felt fit for it, he had similar issues with Brian Danielson when it came to another championship run. “Along with Brian, he’s another person – just like Sting – (…) It was something that made me feel strongly that I wanted to do something with someone, their family and all my fans,” recalls Kahn, and Danielson attempted to speak to me in 2024 so that he wouldn’t want to talk to me at a moment when he didn’t need the moment. That’s what for me – the fans always look back on. ”
Furthermore, regarding Danielson’s current AEW status, Kern explained that although the veteran has not been seen on television, he still works behind the scenes. Furthermore, according to the president of AEW, while the two still work together, it is interesting that “American Dragon” never said he retired forever. “I hope he could go back to wrestling from an injury. (…) But he’s still part of AEW. So I’m very fortunate to still be able to work with Brian. I talk to Brian almost every day.”
