A four-way championship match has been added to the WWE Backlash Premium Live event on May 10th in St. Louis, Missouri.
Three matches have already been set, with the show in just over a week, with a fourth added during tonight’s Smackdown.
It was a match between Damien Priest and La Night that opened tonight’s SmackDown. It saw Solo Sicor interfere in causing DQ before US champion Jacob Fatt came out and took away the priest and Knight.
A week ago, it was a night in a match against Drew McIntyre.
WWE Smackdown general manager Nick Aldis announced behind the scenes with Fatu and Sikoa that Fatu will defend the title with a three-way backlash against both Knight and Priest.
However, Sicor pointed out that McIntyre technically won the match in DQ last week, so he should be the one to win the title shot.
Instead of discarding the Knight and Priest and playing a Fatu vs McIntyre singles match, Ardis added McIntyre to the match instead to make it four-way.
Other matches set for backlash are John Cena vs Randy Orton in the WWE Championship, Lyla Valkyria vs Becky Lynch for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, and Pat McAfee vs Gunther.
