TNA Wrestling recorded several weeks of impact wrestling television following a live broadcast on May 2nd at the Bren Events Center in Irvine, California. Here are some spoilers courtesy of Pwinsider.com:
The central theme was the escalating power struggle between TNA authority director Santino Marella, who monitors Santino’s performance, and recently introduced Robert Stone (from WWE NXT). Stone, along with his new Deputy Director of Authority Victoria Crawford (formerly WWE’s Alicia Fox), has rejected Santino multiple times. Stone prevents TNA under a match on the TNA siege tag team, preventing Frankie Casarian and Trick Williams from happening early in the taping of the conflict.
Stone then stopped DQ again when Santino tried to resume tag matches for women, including Crawford and TNA knockout world champion Masha Slamovich, after a DQ finish (caused by Masha who used a chair with opponent Tessa Blanchard). This protected Crawford ahead of a knockout title match with Sulamovic in the siege that Stone himself reserved for. A future discussion segment was also set up between the opposite pair of authority (Stone/Crawford vs. Santino/Ariana Grace).
The rivalry between the Hardy Boys and the Nemes brothers has changed. In the previous segment, seeing Nemes challenge Hardy to Hardy in a tag team title ladder match, Ryan Nemes only realised that Jeff Hardy could not enter Canada (siege will be siege in Brampton, Ontario). Santino then booked a singles match instead. In the main event of the taping, Jeff Hardy defeated Nick Nemes with a Swanton bomb. After the match, Ryan Nemez attacked Jeff and urged Leon Slater to save Hardis.
The biggest surprise was the appearance of a wrestler, previously known in WWE as Xia Li. Following the Xia Brookside match that ends with Rosemary and DQ, former Xia Li hit the ring to rescue Brookside and could arrive at TNA after the WWE release in April 2024.
Other important results built up under the siege include Steve McClinn defeating Eric Young in what was reported as a “super bloody” dog collar match. In the tag team category, TNA world champions Joe Hendry and Elijah defeated Moose and Brian Myers. Frankie Casarian then attacked Hendry, further exaggerating the besieged Tag match.
Plus: Mustafa Ali defeated Ace Austin after Ali’s group had previously sacrificed the match to Trey Miguel. Eddie Edwards defeated Jake Painter with commentary on his siege enemy Cody Deaner (his career is on the line). And first class (AJ Francis & KC Navarro) defeated Sami Karihan and Mike Santana to continue their feud, including O’Shea Jackson Jr., who Francis called “a broken butt fill” in the taping.
