The WWE star has revealed plans to defend the championship at Summer Slam in his hometown ahead of the title match in the backlash.
WWE is set to host a Backlash Premium Live event in St. Louis, with four championship matches being held at the show.
Fatu will defend the title on a four-way basis with former champions La Knight and Drew McIntyre amid ongoing rivalry, as well as Damien Priest and Drew McIntyre.
Speaking to News 12, the priest spoke about his upcoming match, saying he plans to win the title in the backlash and that he will defend it at Summerslam in his hometown later this year.
He said:
“We’re going to set up a table for what will become the biggest summer slam ever, meaning it’s already guaranteed to be that.
“So I hope I can win the United States Championship twice in the backlash, and then I will continue to defend, hopefully have the money in the bank and protect it again in front of my hometown.”
The priests were short against Drew McIntyre at the Battle of Sin City Street at WrestleMania 41.
