Osprey’s in-ring skills are undeniable, and he takes pride in being one of the best professional wrestlers in the world. In fact, he claims that even his worst days can hold back most of the WWE roster.
While talking to the Daily Star, Will Osprey said he doesn’t enjoy WWE as a fan or wrestler. He hadn’t seen the WrestleMania 41, but I heard that it wasn’t great, aside from the matches involving Iyo Sky, Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair.
Ospreay explained that he was never a WWE fan. He respects the company and wrestlers who handle that tough schedule, but he doesn’t like the style, presentation, or overall feel of the show, but admits that some improvements have been made, like the work of one-shot cameras.
“I’m not only a viewer but a wrestler, I still don’t enjoy it. I haven’t seen WrestleMania, but from what I’ve heard, it wasn’t the best.
But for me, I was by no means a WWE guy. I respect that and respect the people who do it. The schedule is insane and I admire them. I don’t like shows. I don’t like the style of wrestling or presentation. It got better – I love the one-shots they do – but I wasn’t a huge fan. ”
Ospreay added that he respects and admires everyone in WWE, but he always feels a bit of a rivalry. WWE has the biggest crowds and deals, but he believes that when the bell rings, the AEW wrestler is better. He said he feels he can restrain most of the talents of WWE, even on his worst days.
The aviation assassin said WWE has strong promotional talents such as CM Punk and Rome reign, acknowledging that there are still things he needs to keep up. However, he certainly believes AEW’s in-ring talent is unparalleled on the WWE roster.
“Of course I respect WWE and admire everyone there, but for me, “Yeah, you’re the biggest thing. You draw the biggest crowd. You have the biggest deal.” But the moment the bell rings, I think we’re better than all of them.
Advertisementally, they have some great things. Punk is amazing. The governance is wonderful. There’s still something to keep up. But in the ring? I don’t think anyone on that side would match our peers. ”
Will Ospreay is one of the most exciting and popular wrestlers today, and for many reasons he feels that AEW’s in-ring products are better than WWE, and fans must ultimately respect his opinion.
