El Grande American is now the WWE champion, with the masked star defeating another Lucador to win gold.
Lucha Libre Sensation has been on a hot streak since his arrival in WWE, especially after beating Rey Fenix on the Wrestlemania 41.
His momentum has not yet been exhausted. This victory sparked El Grande Americano picking up some new hardware.
In the May 7th edition of WWE Speed, El Grande American took on the WWE Speed Championship for Dragon Lee.
The Challenger ultimately won, pinning Dragon Lee to win the gold.
At the end of the match, Dragon Lee tried to cover up El Grande Americano. While the referee warned Lee to Lee, Americano again slipped a foreign object into the mask before slamming the diving headbutt to end Lee’s title reign.
El Grande Americano is the fourth WWE Speed Champion, following the reign of Ricochet, Andredo and Dragon Lee.
The match came ahead of Monday, May 5th’s RAW episode.
The current WWE Speed Women’s Champion is Sol Ruca from NXT.
