The rivalry between Trick Williams and Joe Hendry has resulted in NXT general manager Ava and TNA Wrestling authority director Santino Marella reaching an agreement for a special title match at WWE Battleground 2025.
On this week’s WWE NXT episode, Williams led him to a loss from Dark State when Hendry paused a six-man tag team match alongside Hank Walker and Tank Ledger.

To get repayment, Hendry deflects Williams during the battle royale of 25 people, and is now abandoned Williams by Elijah of TNA.

In Ava’s office, she told Hendry that the feud was causing the show to be confused and that it must stop. Hendry is not planning to retreat, so she and Marella say it was the first time they agreed that the TNA World Championships will be defended on the WWE battlefield when Hendry places the belt in the line with Williams.
