The discard pitch of AEW’s insane Derby Allin Spot has been revealed. Tony Khan reveals behind the scenes conversations surrounding this pitch.

Many fans have questioned the limitations of the former TNT champion as Derby Allyin is involved in some of the most extreme spots on AEW TV.

Speaking midway through the Blade Podcast, Tony Kahn revealed that Derby Allin wanted to be attacked by a car in 2020 in a feud with Sammy Guevara.

Khan recalled:

“The early days of the pandemic when we had a very light crew. April 2020 shows that we were filming at the QT (Marshall) and Cody (Rhodes) gyms in Georgia.

“The Derby wanted to be attacked by a car on the program with Sammy (Gevara). “That’s not something we can do now because we really need you. Not only can we afford to make sure you’re not hurt, I can’t even sell you for a week.

“I can’t do that because you have to work on the show every week. There’s no one else. You’re a major part of what we do every week.” I don’t think that makes sense when you have a handful of people there, and he has very few wrestler names and he wants to be attacked by a car.

“Not only can he afford not to get hurt, he really can’t afford to leave TV for a week.”

Derby Allin is currently absent from AEW TV, and the former champion is currently climbing Mount Everest.
