“WWE NXT”, “WWE Evolve”, “WWE LFG: Legends & Future Greats”, and expelling 24 other men from TNA, TNA shocked the world and won the OBA FEMI and NXT Championship at Battleground Tampa. Borne eliminated both Ethan Page and Sean Spears at once, becoming the number one contender for the championship on Tuesday’s “NXT” episode.
Competitor areas included the surprising return of Sean Legacy, including TNA’s Elijah, formerly WWE’s Elias, Ridge Holland, “Evolve,” Wes Lee, Charlie Dempsey, Tavion Heights, and Lexis King. Trick Williams was also involved in Battle Royale, but was eliminated by Elijah after TNA champion Joe Hendry deflected him and continued to come out with an ongoing feud. Before Williams, “LFG” Shirohill sent Chris Island from “LFG” and Lexis King on the top rope to earn his first elimination.
Je’von Evans, Page, Spears and Borne were the final four of the match. Spears and Page worked together to eliminate the “young OG” before attempting to eliminate the leader of “The Culling.” Spears hangs on the ropes, bones the hit page with a kick, sending him over the top rope, and he defeats the spear with him. The NQCC came out to celebrate at Borne, but Dempsey didn’t take part in Borne, Wren Sinclair, or Heights in the Ring.
