We’ve only been in over a month, but the Aew Grand Slam Mexico week is beginning to take shape. Last night’s “CMLL Informa,” CMLL announced the remaining three big matches for “Grand Slam Week,” including Thunder Rosa vs. La Jarochita, two days after the “Grand Slam.” And while it may be a little longer before fans find what’s in the “Grand Slam” itself, they can expect at least two names to be even bigger than what has already been announced.
In the latest version of “Wrestling Observer Radio,” Dave Meltzer was discussing the announced match for “Grand Slam” week.
“What we can expect is there will be a big game involving Will Osprey and Kenny Omega,” Meltzer said. “I don’t oppose each other, but on that show, what it is… I think they’re looking forward to seeing fans of Mexican arenas the most.”
Of course, Meltzer’s reporting was already considered certain by most fans. Ospreay and Omega were featured prominently in their first “Grand Slam” posters, featured alongside Aew Stars Hologram and Komander and CMLL Luchadors Mistico and Mascara Dorada. Ospreay in particular doesn’t keep a secret about how excited he is to work in a Mexican arena. He allowed him to participate in some of the talents he worked there, Tokyo Dome, Wembley Stadium and Madison Square Garden, citing Dorada and Misket as potential antagonists.
