Former WWE, ECW star Rhino makes his AEW debut with Dynamite in the improvised ROH TV title match

Nick Wayne is still the world television champion of the Ring of Honor after beating surprise opponent Rhino, who made his AEW debut on Wednesday with “AEW Dynamate.” Wayne’s opponent was promoted as “someone from the past of Christian Cages” amid continuing tensions between patriarchal Wayne and Cage. The former ECW legend and WWE star appeared in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan, where he challenged the championship. The commentary informed fans that the cage and rhino were “individual” at the beginning of their career.

Sai seemed to be absorbing a hit from Wayne. At one point, Kip Sabian got on the ring apron to distract the judge, and the cage tried to clean the sides from outside and from his feet. Rhino didn’t fall into that and managed to regain control a few more moments in the match before Wayne had the edge and hit Killswitch or Victory.

Cage and patriarchy entered the ring to celebrate with Wayne after his victory. Cage went to place the championship belt at Wayne’s waist, but instead dropped the gold on the canvas.
