Rhino makes his AEW debut with dynamite

AEW Dynamite featured tonight’s legendary surprise on May 7, 2025. “Man Beast” has arrived to challenge Nick Wayne for the ROH World Television Championship.

Unfortunately for the veteran powerhouse, his first outing in the AEW ring ended quickly. Wayne secured the rhino pinfall victory using a kill switch finisher, which was made famous by his mentor Christian Cage.

This marked Wayne’s second successful defense of the ROH World Television Championship. While Rhino is short on his AEW debut, his appearance adds him to the outstanding list of former ECWs who adorn the AEW ring, following names such as Rob Van Dam, Sabu, Raven and more.

Additionally, fellow ECW alumni Jerry Lynn and Taz each maintain an integral part of AEW, serving as behind the scenes and commentary respectively. Despite the losses, Rhino looks forward to another championship opportunity. He is scheduled to challenge NWA World Heavyweight Champion Thomas Latimer at the NWA Crocket Cup event on May 17th. The rhino dynamite look provided a nostalgic moment for longtime fans, adding another layer of veteran presence to the AEW landscape.
