A major update has emerged about Joe Hendry’s future with WWE and how people at the company feel about him.

Hendry ran for NXT last year – essentially one of the faces of the WWE/TNA partnership alongside Jordynne Grace – he had made his way to the challenging Ethan Page of the NXT Championship at No No Mercy Ple.

After winning the TNA World Championship this year, he returned WWE as a surprise participant in the Royal Rumble match, then appeared again as Randy Orton’s surprise opponent at WrestleMania 41, which required a second-half replacement for Kevin Owens.

Since that WrestleMania match, Hendry has once again been regularly appearing on NXT, and will defend the TNA world title against Trick Williams in the upcoming Battleground Ple.

Regarding the potential enduring future of Hendry’s WWE, here are the latest words on it:

As reported by Pwinsider Elite, “being considered quite a lock” by many people in WWE means that Hendry signs the company when he can do so contractually.

WWE officials point out that Hendry has “a lot of great internal feedback” and that he is “nothing but praise” for how he stepped into Orton’s position as WrestleMania opponent.

He is now bound to be “absolutely highly regarded” and has received many praise for how he received feedback and advice, and how he received his own creativity.

Triple H said at the Postrestel Mania 41 press conference that the event was not Hendry’s last Wrestle Mania, so that at least shows his intention to work with him.

His next WWE appearance will be next week’s NXT, the contract deal for the aforementioned battlefield match with Trick Williams.
