WWE teased John Cena’s character change after the backlash.
The Senation Leader scored yet another victory, successfully defending his uncontroversial WWE Championship with Randy Orton in his latest PPV from St. Louis, Missouri.
The end of the match was a chaotic involvement of many WWE staff. Cena accidentally robs the referee with the WWE title belt and Randy catches him with RKO. However, Orton was unable to get the pin because the ref went down.
Nick Aldis General with several other staff came down to check on the judge just to eat the rkos from Orton’s hands. Viper then attempts to deliver a punt kick to John, but R Truth appears in the ring to save his childhood hero. He was also rkoed for his efforts.
What happened after the backlash
All the confusion allowed John Cena to capitalize. He slowly blows his opponent away and uses his title belt again to finally get the pin. The 17-time world champion cut a promotion that he wanted to compete. The PPV aired with the champion still posing in the ring.
However, the Peacemaker star did not leave shortly after the show ended. The crowd cheered him again and apparently got Cena to reconsider his life choices. As the WWE Champion left the ring, a chant of “Thank you Cena” erupted, and John thought of his actions for a while before finally heading backwards.
WWE’s previous face turned in the elimination chamber, but it’s unlikely that he will end his career as a heel. This latest bullying may be the beginning of a story that brings Cena back to his roots and ends his run with a high note to turn his face back.
