WWE’s Triple H looks back at WCW’s iconic DX invasion

4 Min Read

During “Monday Night War,” WWE and WCW went on stage with each other, and amidst years of defeat, WWE allowed Gen D X to set the “invasion” at Turner’s headquarters, solidifying the faction’s main event status and helping the promotions to ultimately lift their legs up in the competition.

“There was a moment when we were going to do our first attack on WCW. We were going. What they were doing was, if we were in the arena, they remembered one of their TV shows during their appearances on “Flagrant,” explaining how “WCW Invasion” was caused. “They were right down the street at their show, so we rolled up in tanks.”

Triple H added that the day of WCW’s “invasion” will be tapped before WWE, allowing DX to go to Turner’s headquarters, shoot at the angle and go back in time for it to air on “Monday Night Raw.” Furthermore, he claimed that he was the only one in the stunt before they did it. “They came to me. “With our logo, military s**t, what are we doing?” And I said, “Hey, I can’t tell you yet, Vince wants to tell you, but I’m telling you, that’s f**king bada **.”

“Please open the f**king door and let me in.”

Triple H also noted that there are concerns that WCW will send star tracks to WWE, but added that Vince McMahon is not afraid of potential retaliation for the competition. “Are you going?” he says: “Is Vince going?” “If they roll up here on a track full of wrestlers, he would look like this:

Triple H then confirmed his X-PAC account for the “WCW invasion” he made earlier this year. There, members of Fellow D-Generation X claimed that WCW had stopped entering the building, but added that there would be a backup plan if things went south. “We would like to see a random accidental plan because if they came out, if someone touched any of us, if someone touched one of us, if someone touched one of us, if someone touched one of us, I would come first, so everyone would look at me, switch cameras, take the real tape and get the f**K here, so if they touched one of us, we liked a random accidental plan.

The WCW Production Team is said to have not noticed the outing fuss.

Triple H was then asked if the WCW wrestler actually got physical with him. He shot down and explained that while everyone “talks S**t”, most of the time, fellow wrestlers understand business and what it takes to raise the angle. “The funny thing is, we’re doing this. Kevin Nash is back from the gym with Rex Luger.

The veteran also remembered that Kevin Nash had finally approached the production team, confusing that no one in WCW was taking care of the Gen DX attitude. “He looked around the room and said, “Are you worried about what’s going on outside?” They said, “What are you talking about?” And he said, “Are you shooting thousands of fans outside the building and around them?”

When asked about what other WCW wrestlers might have thought of the promotional stunt, Triple H claimed that WCW wrestlers aren’t too worried about WCW and are even more concerned about the money paid to not do much work.
