Blair Davenport returns to action after WWE is released with the revival of NJPW

Blair Davenport is officially active and she wasted no time to issue a statement.

On May 9, 2025, with the NJPW revival, Davenport returned to the ring against Viva Van, marking her first match since it was released by WWE earlier this year.

After months of speculation about her next move, Davenport surprised the NJPW crowd, and she was surprised along the way towards the ring. Viva Van kept Davenport at bay early, but his momentum changed as Davenport unleashed a brutal stomp from the top rope. Along with Van Grounded, Davenport delivered her signature Plan for Bea For a decisive pinfall victory.

Davenport’s return comes after she previously suggested she wanted to take a little time for herself and hope. Speaking to the cultholic, she said. “I’m not going to do it because someone else is telling me, I’m looking forward to it or enjoying it, so I just want to do what I want to do and do what I want to do.”

Davenport also spoke to her connection with Toni Storm approaching Orlando. The two discussed potential consensus with each other, Davenport noted, “Toni really wants to wrestletter me, so I hope that one day it will happen.”

She is now free to choose her own match, so Davenport appears ready to prepare with anyone and with anyone. But under her belt in her first victory, what’s next for the former WWE star?
