Miz hosts “American Gradiator” on Amazon Prime Video

Mike “The Miz” Mizanin has been chosen to host the iconic competition series “American Gladiators” for the upcoming reboot of Amazon Prime Video. The original show, held from 1989 to 1996, pitted amateur athletes against the terrifying “gladiators.”

The Revamped series features an “All-Star Cast of Gladiators of the Modern Era” and includes classic challenges such as “Gauntlet”, “Hangtough” and “Eliminator” alongside the new trials. The two-time WWE Grand Slam champion Miz brings a wide range of television experiences from shows such as MTV’s “The Real World” and USA Network’s “Miz & Mrs.” In the role of hosting.

Barry Poznick, GM of MGM Alternative, said, “We are delighted to formally welcome WWE Superstar Mike ‘The Miz’ Mizanin. He is the perfect host for this new era of iconic franchise.” Poznick added that the US reboot, combined with British success and other ventures, means a “cultural revival” of gladiators.

Produced by John Ferraro and Daniel Carin, the new series has been on a live tour with the recently launched original “American Gladiator,” showing the big comeback of the franchise that MIZ leads the accusations and loves.
