In April 2025, Josh Alexander made his AEW debut and now revealed the hopes he had before signing the company.
The former TNA world champion made his debut on April 16th episode of AEW Dynamite, where he monitored it alongside the Don Karis family.
Josh Alexander now revealed that joining Don Charis is a hope that he was ahead of the AEW.
Speaking about the classics of wrestling, Alexander stated the following about the conversation he had while awaiting his US visa:
“Before I started my company, I was waiting for my visa. I didn’t know when I was about to start or what I was going to do.”
Alexander will continue to reveal conversations about how he imagined his AEW debut.
“I remember having a conversation with Scott (estimated D’Amore). “I hope that he’ll be in the Don Callis family with Don. I think that’s a great way.”
“It’s a little more difficult when you come in yourself, especially in places where there are a lot of people like that.
“So when I’m put myself in a place with someone like Don, someone I respect, I think I’m extremely talented. I can learn…it’s going to be very easy for me.”
With that hope coming true, Alexander will continue to praise Don Charis.
“As much as he is an on-air manager, he is someone I admire so much, and I’ve worked in the past so I know I can help him do other things in the company behind the scenes.”
Alexander may be signed to AEW, but JBL recently said he wanted the former TNA world champion to sign with WWE.
Ahead of Alexander’s AEW debut, Don Charis revealed that Mark Davis and Brian Cage, whose family has been sidelined with injuries, are looking for new members to bolster that numbers.
