Former AEW star Joey Janela sparks a controversial conversation about the death of the ECW legendary sub

Last weekend, the world of wrestling lamented the sudden death of ECW legendary sub, who played in his retirement match against Joey Janela at GCW a month ago. Unfortunately, the contentious information has been revealed. Prior to the aforementioned match, Sub was in poor health, claiming that Janela provided sub with kratom (herbal substance) to help the veterans pass the match.

In an interview published shortly before Sub’s death, Janela admitted to giving the late wrestler kratom, but certain elements of the interview were decorated to add to Sub’s “lore.” According to “Fightful Select,” some have suggested that GCW people were “frustrated, embarrassed, humiliated” by interviews, and that Match or Sabu’s use of Kratom may have contributed to his sudden death.

Joey Janela cleared the air about sub and his use of kratom

Joey Janela then took him to social media to clear the air about his use of kratom in interviews and long posts in subs. “I’m really devastated about this and this whole deal really affects me. Kratom was something that Sabu took for years, he took down other substances, Sabu loved his weeds, and Kratom did what he loved for 40 years,” Janela wrote in X. “I loved the sub, who was justly not justified that my idol grew up.

In particular, Janela responded to another X user, causing the “snowman effect” of people who claimed their post was the cause of sub’s death, causing their posts and apologised to that person. “Sub was fine. I’ve made a lot of appearances the day after I signed at Wrestlecon, but all I can say is not to make him happy that he was on top because I don’t know what I can say,” Janela wrote.
