Joey Janela’s controversial comments about Sabu’s final match at GCW Spring Break 9 reportedly embarrassing, annoyed and humiliating the feelings of game-changer wrestling.
According to Fightful SelectGCW promoter Brett Lauderdale confronted Janela about the interview.
“GCW is said to have been frustrated, embarrassed and humiliated by the interview itself. Brett Lauderdale spoke to Joey Janela about the interview and the situation, but he doesn’t know what’s coming. The outlet reported.
In an interview with Non-crownedJanela claimed that Sub was given Kratom to help him get through the match. Sabu, who previously believed he helped the substance recover from the opiates, stolen his final match against Janela a few weeks before he passed away at the age of 60.
Janela’s comments painted a controversial picture and suggested that the sub needed the material to carry out. Janela was pointed out to be suspicious “We decorated some elements of the match itself to add to the sub’s ‘lore’.” And the interview took place right after the match itself.
However, Janela’s comments quickly attracted criticism online. Fans say GCW accused Sabu of exploiting it for ticket sales “So GCW/Brett knew he couldn’t wrestled that night or he had problems with at least 2,000 fans in the name of making AF happy rather than prioritizing it.****Old retired legendary health. I am disappointed to support GCW and buy tickets for their show. ”*
Janela quickly fought back, denying that GCW had anything to do with Kratom. He claimed that Sub’s own team provided the substance, defended and stated its use.
“We didn’t give him the Kratom that his team did. It’s not illegal either, either, and 85% of professional wrestlers do it, especially on television.** you. Sub was a grown man and he did what he had to do to get out there. I took full advantage of his abilities and took care of him.
Janela insisted that the goal is to give Sub a final payday and memorable send-off. However, as fans kept pushing him, his tone shifted, urging him to take accountability to allow Sub to wrestle in such a state. One fan said,
“Joey I love you, but take responsibility and say sorry for this s* Man. f *** “Spotlight”, his health comes first. ”*
Janela refused and responded, “kiss my ass.” Janela doubled when the fans were pushed further and suggested that she apologize to sub’s family and fans.
“Sub’s friends and family are over the moon for what we did for him.**I kiss you and my ass. ”*
Despite fallout, something was emphasized “It does not show that any GCW coincidence or anything related to that story has something to do with the death of Sub.” Sabu appeared on Wrestlecon shortly after the GCW match and interacted with fans who would eventually become his final public appearance.
For Janela, the controversy isn’t over as fans continue to demand accountability, but he remains unattended and rebellious.
