WWE pays tribute to the late Star Sub.

WWE paid tribute to hardcore legend Terrence Blanc, well known for wrestling fans as a sub after passing away at age 60 over the weekend.

Sub established himself as an ECW legend throughout the 90s, becoming two-time world heavyweight champion, three-time tag team champion, former world television champion and even former holder of the FTW heavyweight championship. Through ECW fame, he appeared on WCW until the promotion closed its doors, once again revived as the third brand in WWE, facing John Cena in 2006.

Sub had yet to introduce a WWE Hall of Fame induction due to his exploit despite many calls, but did not prevent him from celebrating the legend during “WWE Raw” with Michael Cole’s tribute package and voiceover. Cole has given his commentary modern comments with AEW, both his rival and championship-winning partner, but he mostly speaks of what resume and industry sub boasts about.

Taz was one of many names posted in Sunday’s memory and praised Sub for making his career a possibility and his person. Sub only played their final match in April. The rope barbed wire match against Joey Janela ended his career in a victory 17 minutes later.
