Following last weekend’s WWE backlash, John Cena suspended Paul “Triple H” Levesque and took over the post-show press conference. This leads to R-Truth facing a wrestling hero, accidentally humiliated, and in front of a room full of reporters and everyone watching at home, Cena retaliates by adjusting her attitude and putting the truth on the table.
Speaking about “Busted Open Radio,” Bully Ray revealed that he is not a huge fan of the segment. Part of the problem was that the influence didn’t seem to be that ineffective, but that the bully played audio from the interaction as proof.
“It sounded like someone knocked on an ashtray,” the bully said.
Bully co-host Nic Nemeth compared Cena’s tone to his time in the reality series “Total Divas,” but Bully has deeper issues with the storyline. The former WWE and ECW star felt that the conflict between Cena and Truth felt “anti-climax,” and he would have saved the encounter at another time and place. Alternatively, there was a way for WWE and performers to add more emotion to the segment.
“I didn’t feel bad about Ron murder after that,” the bully said. “I’ve seen John’s done many times. I want emotion. I feel so bad for Ron Killing at that moment, so I want to punch John Cena in my face.”
Although not yet confirmed in WWE, rumors emerged on a morning of backlash that showed the truth would challenge Cena for the indisputable WWE Championship at the main event of Saturday Night on May 24th.
