Rhea Ripley calls toxic behavior in women’s wrestling fandom

WWE superstar Rhea Ripley joined social media on Wednesday to address what she considers to be the most problematic fan of women’s wrestling.

The multi-time world champion is tired of the hypocrisy of fans who claim to support women’s wrestling, and at the same time undermining female performers with sexist assumptions and harmful rhetoric.

Ripley tweeted:

“Female wrestling fan – “woman worthy” (same breath) – “She sleeps with her boss, so she’s where she is” – “She should retire” – “She doesn’t deserve it” – “She’s not working for anything” – “I hope you get hurt” – “You’re serious about making your efforts to make your efforts. You will accomplish something yourself. ”

Ripley points out that this toxic behavior contributes to the ongoing challenges women face in professional wrestling with respect.
