AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm is touted as one of AEW’s best stars today, but TBS Champion Mercedes Mohn has been declared the best instead, and in the Owen Hart Tournament the two could clash in AEW.
“She redefines women’s wrestling for AEW,” declared Tony Ciaborne when she spoke about Storm on the episode “What Happen?” “We are very fortunate to have two experts. I mean experts. We have more experts, but Toni Storm, Mercedes Mohn, and it’s so great to work with him.” After that, Schiavone remembered that she had no idea what to expect before working with Mone at AEW, and although he knew her as “Sasha Banks”, he praised her for absolutely loving her and entertaining the storm as well. “Obviously they’ll have their clashes soon, and that should be great.”
Schiavone further praised the way Storm cuts down on promotions today, revealing who has honed the way she uses her character and came up with a “timeless” gimmick. “Tony Kahn is extremely proud of this character he came up with, and it’s just that he’s in the gangbusters business for us,” he added. “And it’s great to praise Tony Kahn for that, and not just the great character he developed, but as Toni Storm said, I bought it completely.”
