Below are spoilers for this Saturday’s AEW Collision Beach Break, recorded following Dynamite at Hoffman Estate, Illinois on Wednesday.
Kyle Fletcher defeated AR Fox
A competitive 12-minute match, including a commercial break. Solid action that could benefit from more time. This was tapered in front of the dynamite.
Steve “Mango” McMichael is a homage to Rick Flair
Tony Ciaborne held a tribute to McMichael with Mango widow Misty and former Four Horseman Dean Malenko. Flair appeared and spoke to Solle, saying, “Chicago is one of the biggest towns in wrestling,” and “Steve McMichael is more than I ever know.”
Megan Bain (Penelope Ford w/ w/Penelope Ford) defeated Anna Jay (with Harley Cameron)
After Ford exposed the turnbuckle, Bane won in a descent descent. Ford and Cameron call out to the back, Jay bumping into the exposed turnbuckle, and Bane runs a power bomb before the finishing move.
Nigel McGuinness embraced the FTR challenge
McGuinness has formally accepted the challenge of Daniel Garcia vs. FTR on Double or Nothing, either Double or Nothing.
Brody King, Tomohiro Ishii & Bandido defeated RPG Vice (Rocky Romero and Trent) & Lance Archer
An action-packed match in which Brody pins Rocky after Cannonball. The post-match heeled attack was stopped by an outrunner.
“Speedball” Mike Bailey defeated Blake Christian (with Lee Johnson)
A strong show from both competitors. After the match, Bailey said, “Bailey. I’ll prove it. Bitch!” Before Dralistico and Rush attack Bailey from behind.
Big Bill & Brian Keith defeated Gates in a street fight
Wildbrow featuring barb wire butts, chain butts, boards, tables, pool cues, metal signs, conduits and trash cans. Bill pinned the counter after using bricks from his backpack. The crowd chanted “Flesh!!!”
Son Texas won the title match for the AEW World Tag Team
Sammy Guevara & Dustin Rhodes went to sleep, and Guevara pinned Andretti and defeated CRU (LIO Rush & Action Andretti). The victory wins them a title match against the Heart Syndicate with double or nuts.
Powerhouse Hobbs defeated Wheeler Yuta
Hobbs won with a power slam and a spinebuster. After the match, Marina Shafir attacked Hobbs until Willow Nightingale made a save. When Utah threatened Willow, Chris Statlander looked without intervention, leading to a conflict from Willow.
